Proud Proud Proud! by W. A. Wonder is the first book in his warmly motivational and encouraging Pep Talk Series.

This book was particularly fun for me to work on because it’s the first project I’ve had using anthropomorphized animal characters, so designing them and getting to play around with the different species and their features was such a treat!
I also played softball for a year when I was about the same age as the main character, and I wasn’t particularly good at it. Being able to put some love into the illustrations telling this story was, in a way, like sharing it with that little kid version of myself that really could have used this pep talk at the time.
